Tyler Hultman has been named the new principal of Fern Bluff Elementary School.
Hultman has served as the assistant principal of Pond Spring Elementary School since 2017 and, during that time, helped create a school-wide reward system that focused on positive student behaviors and reduced discipline referrals. Before his time at Pond Springs, he served as a teacher at Herrington Elementary School and in Indiana and New York. He has almost 20 years of experience in education. He is also a graduate of the District’s Team One Program, designed to provide aspiring principals with professional development relevant to the principal role.
“While we all understand the challenges we face, I do not doubt that we will work together to make this a fantastic school year for everyone,” Hultman said. “As a collective group, we will continue to foster the strong traditions of Fern Bluff while paving the way for future achievements.”
Hultman earned his Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Iowa and a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education from the University of Northern Iowa.
