Twelve students collectively from Round Rock High School and Westwood High School achieved a perfect score of 36 on the ACT during the June, July and September administration of the assessment.
“We are beyond proud of these students on their accomplishment of reaching a perfect score on the ACT” said Mario Acosta, Westwood High School principal. “Their hard work has paid off and there’s no doubt that their success will continue while at Westwood and beyond.”
“This is an outstanding accomplishment for Garrett, Khoa, Marco, their families, and our Dragon community,” said Matt Groff, Round Rock High School principal. “We congratulate them on their achievements and expect to continue to see great accomplishments from them.”
On average, only around 1 percent of students who take the ACT earn a top score. In the U.S. high school graduating class of 2017, only 2,760 out of more than 2 million graduates who took the ACT earned a composite score of 36.
The ACT is a curriculum-based achievement exam that measures what students have learned in school. Students who earn a 36 composite score have likely mastered all of the skills and knowledge they will need to succeed in first-year college courses in the core subject areas.
