The Round Rock ISD Board of Trustees approved a 2 percent Districtwide pay increase for the 2018-2019 school year at its May 17 Regular Board Meeting.
The salary increase will cost the District $5.85 million and is included in the 2018-2019 budget, slated to be adopted in June.
“We know the immense value of our educators, campus and District staff and remain dedicated to providing them with competitive compensation and serving them just as they serve our students each day, with support,” Board President Diane M. Cox said. “As a Trustee, I am proud to say that we continue to believe in and take action in continuing to invest in our educators and staff.”
Teachers, librarians, and nurses (RN) will see a $1,010 general pay increase and an adjustment to steps in years one to six to improve overall pay progression. Counselors and other licensed professionals will see a $1,225 general pay increase.
Other pay grades will see a pay increase equal to 2 percent of the midpoint, after a 1 percent increase in pay ranges.
“Seeing the financial issues many of our fellow school districts across the state are facing, we are fortunate to have a system of effective financial planning and our Board of Trustees support continued investment in our educators and staff,” Superintendent Steve Flores, Ph.D. said. “Our staff impacts the lives of more than 49,000 students and deserve to have compensation that reflects the dedication and hard work they put into helping our students succeed.”
