Round Rock ISD Financial Services has been awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) for its comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR).
The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management, according to the GFOA. Rosanna Guerrero is the District’s Director of Finance and Janet Maluschka is the District’s Accounting Manager.
“We are honored to be recognized for our efforts in financial reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association,” said Randy Staats, Round Rock ISD chief financial officer. “This achievement represents the hard work of our outstanding Business and Financial Services teams and our campus and department leaders, who take every opportunity to remain responsible to our taxpayers and practice fiscal responsibility and transparency.”
The CAFR is judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, which includes demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the CAFR.
The GFOA is a nonprofit professional association serving approximately 19,000 government finance professionals. It provides top quality publications, training programs, services, and products designed to enhance the skills and performance of those responsible for government finance policy and management.
