Superintendent’s Message: Next steps regarding future Bond Election

Superintendent Dr. Steve Flores discusses the next steps after this past Bond Election:

Dear Round Rock ISD Family,
We have had an outstanding year as a Round Rock ISD community, and I truly believe what makes us stronger is our collective drive to do what is best for our students.

Our recent Bond election brought passionate opinions both in favor and in opposition. I’d like to thank the 17,170 members of our community who came out to vote. That number represents an increased interest over prior years. As we move forward, we will engage, listen, and learn more about your priorities and hopes for all students in Round Rock ISD.

Board approves mandatory school meal price increase

The Board of Trustees approved federally mandated increases of $0.10 to school meals as a result of The Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act. The law mandates that school meal programs match average costs with the federal reimbursement rate, which the Texas Department of Agriculture set at $2.85. The current District average rate is $2.72. The law allows districts to incrementally increase rates over a number of years.
