Round Rock ISD will begin construction and renovations at 19 campuses on June 6 to complete 28 Bond 2014 projects throughout the summer.

The projects, totaling more than $57,000, signify the second round of summer bond projects throughout the district. Round Rock ISD completed 24 bond projects in summer 2015, totaling $12 million, at 25 campuses.

The Bond 2014 funds were voter approved through a $299 million bond package, addressing growth, capital improvements, increased access to technology and the addition of new fine art facilities for the district.

As a result of construction, the following campuses will be closed June 6 through August 11: Caraway, Fern Bluff and Live Oak elementary schools; McNeil and Westwood high schools.

Summer bond projects are listed below:

Elementary Schools:

  • Berkman Elementary School: replace fire alarm system and expand fire alarm room, replace cafeteria sound system and replace skylight,
  • Blackland Prairie Elementary School: replace classroom carpet in all but 10 classrooms,
  • Bluebonnet Elementary School: add walk-in freezer and replace dishwasher,
  • Caraway: replace carpet and tile,
  • Deep Wood Elementary School: replace fire alarm system,
  • Fern Bluff Elementary School: replace carpet and cafeteria flooring,
  • Forest North Elementary School: replace PA/clock/bell system
  • Jollyville Elementary School: replace HVAC system and replace PA/clock/bell system,
  • Live Oak Elementary School: replace HVAC system and replace PA/clock/bell system,
  • Pond Springs Elementary School: replace HVAC system,
  • Robertson Elementary School: add parking lot lighting,
  • Wells Branch Elementary School: replace playground equipment with ADA playscape, replace blacktop play area and replace fire alarm system.

Middle Schools:

  • Cedar Valley Middle School: replace fire alarm system,
  • Chisholm Trail Middle School: replace PA/clock/bell system and replace roof,
  • Grisham Middle School: replace PA/clock/bell system, and
  • Ridgeview Middle School: replace tile in fine arts corridor.

High Schools:

  • Cedar Ridge High School: add parking lot lights and auditorium addition,
  • McNeil High School: phase one additions and renovations, and
  • Westwood High School: phase three additions and renovations.
