The Texas Association of School Administrators has named the Round Rock ISD Board of Trustees as the top board in Region 13.

Of more than 1200 ISDs in the state, TASA chose 15 regional nominees that will continue for an opportunity to be named the 2025 Outstanding School Board.

Board Pres. Tiffanie N. Harrison said she is honored to work alongside such dedicated colleagues.

“It’s truly been a joy to serve on this new board, keeping the district moving forward and focused on our students—the reason we’re all here,” Harrison said. “We want all our students to have the opportunity to follow their passions and feel welcome in their classrooms.”

Board Secretary Amber Landrum, who served as board president prior to Harrison, said the trustees have been able to move past divisions among the group.

“Our ability to collaborate effectively has fostered a strong sense of teamwork and shared purpose that trickles down all the way into the classrooms,” she said. “While differences of opinion still occur, they’re approached constructively, with resolutions emerging through thoughtful dialogue and consensus-building. This ensures that the board operates with both cohesion and efficiency.”

Superintendent Hafedh Azaiez nominated the board for the award, and said he was excited to share the news with the Round Rock ISD community.

“They deserve it—no doubt in my mind. We are so thrilled that their hard work is being recognized,” Azaiez said. “In every decision they make about a policy or a budget, they’re focused on our students, teachers, campus leaders and staff. We are thankful to have their leadership and guidance.”

Next steps: TASA’s School Board Awards Committee meets later this month to choose up to five of the nominated boards as Honor Boards. Those finalists will be interviewed in Houston on Sept. 12, and the 2025 Outstanding School Board will be announced Sept. 13.
