The Texas Dance Educators Association (TDEA) welcomed a Round Rock ISD teacher as its newly appointed President during its annual convention in January. Kelley Morgan, a dance teacher at Pearson Ranch Middle School, will now lead the association through the upcoming year, bringing decades of experience and a passion for advancing dance education across the state.

As President, Morgan will guide the work of the TDEA Executive Board in promoting research-based, effective dance education for both K-12 and collegiate programs. She will also oversee the planning and execution of TDEA’s annual convention, a vital professional development opportunity for dance educators throughout Texas.

I’m honored to serve as President,” said Morgan. “It’s exciting being asked to continue the work of my predecessors. I look forward to advancing our footprint in dance education and arts advocacy within the state of Texas.”

Morgan marks a historic milestone as the first middle school dance educator to serve as TDEA President. A dedicated teacher in Round Rock ISD, she has spent 25 years teaching at the middle and high school levels. Her leadership journey within TDEA spans six years on the executive board, where she served as the first, second, and third Vice Presidents and President-Elect.

“Kelley is a dynamic and visionary educator whose leadership reflects the excellence and innovation we strive for in Round Rock ISD,” said Jager Loyde, Director of Fine Arts – Music. “Her service to dance education, both in the classroom and across the state, continues to inspire students and teachers alike. We are proud to see her represent our district at such a high level.”
