When the regular school year ends, Round Rock ISD continues to serve students through year-round programming that offers added academic support and fun, safe, and affordable enrichment opportunities.

From hands-on learning to creative exploration, our summer programs are designed to keep students engaged, supported, and ready for the year ahead. Many programs also include meals and bus transportation.

Round Rock ISD Pop-up Library
At the Pop-Up Library, students and families have access to a wide variety of books to take home and enjoy. Books can be kept, returned or exchanged during any Pop-Up Library location visit.

June 7 – Pride Festival at Centennial Plaza, 2–7 p.m.

June 14 – Juneteenth Festival at Old Settlers Park, 6–9 p.m.

June 27 – City of Round Rock Family Fun Night at Yonders Point in Old Settlers Park, 7:30–10 p.m.

July 25 – City of Round Rock Family Fun Night at Yonders Point in Old Settlers Park, 7:30–10 p.m.

On Saturday, July 26, gather the family and join us at Cedar Ridge High School for our annual Back to School Celebration event. You’ll enjoy free fun, entertainment, and services.

Pre-K through grade 5
Round Rock ISD Enrichment offers both half- and full-day camps that are fun, convenient, and affordable, held at select campuses. Students can choose from a wide variety of activities, including sports, cooking, acting, art, music, sewing, languages, STEAM, and more. Find Round Rock ISD Summer Camps.

The YMCA offers weekly full-day camps for students at multiple district school locations. Learn more about YMCA Summer Camps.

Kidventure Summer Camps offers weekly full-day camps for students in Pre-K to fifth grade at Sommer Elementary School. Learn more about Kidventure Summer Camps.

Elementary Launch is a rich, hands-on curriculum focused on math and literacy. Enrolled Round Rock ISD students in grades 3 and 4 who require accelerated instruction based on STAAR scores will be invited to participate.

Elementary school students identified for Round Rock ISD Talented and Gifted services are invited to participate in the Summer TAG Festival. This summer camp opportunity provides enrolled Round Rock ISD students receiving TAG services enriching summer experiences.

Elementary Emergent Bilingual and Newcomer Programs offer enrolled Round Rock ISD bilingual, ESL, and students new to the country language-rich, focused instruction that continues to develop language acquisition, early literacy, and social-emotional learning. Students who meet eligibility criteria will be invited to participate.

Students receiving special education services attend the special education extended school year if determined eligible by the ARD committee.


For students rising to grades 6 through 12

Middle school students identified for Round Rock ISD Talented and Gifted services are invited to participate in the Summer TAG Festival. This summer camp opportunity provides enrolled Round Rock ISD students receiving TAG services enriching summer experiences.

Middle School Propel is for enrolled Round Rock ISD students who require accelerated instruction based on STAAR scores in reading and math. The middle school Emergent Bilingual and Newcomer Programs offer enrolled Round Rock ISD bilingual, ESL, and students new to the country language-rich, focused instruction that continues to develop language acquisition, early literacy, and social-emotional learning. Students who meet eligibility criteria will be invited to participate.

Round Rock ISD enrolled high school students who need credit recovery or end-of-course preparation courses for STAAR testing attend summer learning classes. Geography, Economics, Government, Practical Writing, or Physical Education course for enrolled students who want to earn original credit. Courses taken for credit recovery or original credit will cost $200 unless the student’s family qualifies for free or reduced school meals.

Students enrolled in Round Rock ISD’s P-TECH and Early College High School programs participate in summer bridge sessions to help them successfully transition into college-level coursework.

Students receiving special education services attend the special education extended school year if determined eligible by the ARD committee.

Throughout the summer, Round Rock ISD high schools will provide the services of a dedicated “summer melt” counselor, who will assist recent graduates in navigating their path toward higher education, the workforce, or a combination of both.
