Dear Round Rock ISD community,

We’ve officially entered graduation season! The first day of school is always full of hope and excitement, but there’s nothing quite like graduation. It’s the moment where all the hard work, growth, and dreams come together as we celebrate the incredible journey of the Class of 2025.

As we get ready to celebrate our graduates, we want to recognize the amazing educators and staff who helped them get here.

This week is Teacher and School Nurse Appreciation Week, and I want to extend my deepest gratitude to the teachers and nurses whose dedication, compassion, and expertise help shape not only strong students but whole, healthy individuals.

To our teachers, you are the heart of our classrooms. Your impact goes far beyond academics. You inspire confidence, build resilience, and create safe spaces where every student can thrive. Thank you for your patience, creativity, and unwavering belief in our students.

To our school nurses, you are trusted caregivers and calm problem-solvers. From treating everyday scrapes to managing chronic conditions and supporting students’ emotional well-being, you help keep our school communities safe, healthy, and ready to learn.

Each year during Teacher Appreciation Week, we proudly announce our district’s Teachers of the Year. Congratulations to Madison Buerster, fourth-grade teacher at Voigt Elementary Arts Integration Academy, and Tori Sanders, English teacher at Round Rock High School, our 2026 Elementary and Secondary Teachers of the Year, respectively. Your dedication and excellence embody the very best of Round Rock ISD.

We also celebrate our amazing paraprofessionals, who consistently support instruction and student needs daily. Your dedication and positive presence in our schools are a vital part of our success. Thank you for your meaningful contributions to our students’ growth and well-being.

On our website, you can meet all our elementary and secondary 2025–26 campus Teachers and Paraprofessionals of the Year. Each honoree exemplifies the values and excellence we strive for as a district.

We’re proud to recognize our Elementary and Secondary Principals of the Year, Amy Jacobs of Forest North Elementary School and Larissa Ortiz of Cedar Valley Middle School! Nominated by district leaders and chosen by their peers, they exemplify outstanding leadership, teamwork, and dedication to student success.

I’m honored to serve alongside such a dedicated team. Thank you for the heart, time, and talent you pour into our students each day—because of you, they’re ready to thrive in school and beyond.

And to all who are celebrating this weekend—Happy Mother’s Day!

Respectfully,
