Dear Round Rock ISD community,
We are incredibly proud of our schools and the powerful impact they have on our students, families and community. Beyond academics, our campuses are places where students learn what it means to belong, to support one another, and to believe in themselves.
Every day, our amazing educators and staff help students build self-confidence, resilience, and perseverance—essential life skills that shape strong, capable individuals. Whether it’s in the classroom, on the field, or through the arts, our schools promote a sense of community and pride. We are growing not just learners, but compassionate, confident leaders of tomorrow.
The Texas Legislature is currently considering a bill that could greatly enhance early childhood education by expanding access to high-quality Pre-K programs across the state. This important legislation proposes increased funding, stronger program standards, and more opportunities for Texas children to benefit from early learning.
In Round Rock ISD, we believe that It Starts With Us—our commitment to early education lays the foundation for lifelong success. We are closely monitoring this bill and advocating for policies that support the critical role of Pre-K in shaping confident, capable learners.
As we work to strengthen early childhood education, we understand the importance of maintaining strong accountability measures to support student success at every stage, from Pre-K through graduation.
This week the Texas Education Agency released school ratings for the 2022 and 2023 school years. Ratings from 2022 and 2023 had been delayed after 120 Texas school districts sued TEA, arguing that the agency changed rating benchmarks and the STAAR test. Round Rock ISD’s overall A-F rating has remained a “B,” with an 89 in 2022 and an 87 in 2023. While no single letter grade can capture the full story of a school, we are proud of the results, which reflect the hard work and dedication of our students, educators, families, and staff across Round Rock ISD.
Behind every rating are dedicated teachers, hardworking students, and supportive families who contribute to a vibrant learning environment. Schools foster creativity, build character, and teach essential life skills like collaboration, resilience, and empathy—things that can’t always be measured on a standardized test.
Graduation season is just around the corner, and with it comes a wave of excitement and celebration. We look forward to honoring this important milestone and also reflecting on the incredible achievements of all of our students and staff throughout the year.
Respectfully,
Dr. Hafedh “AZ” Azaiez
Proud Superintendent of Schools
