Round Rock ISD community,

Our schools thrive because of the time, energy, and passion our volunteers bring to the district. We have more than 8,500 active family volunteers serving as mentors, W.A.T.C.H. Dogs, chaperones, booster club members, classroom helpers, event organizers, library aides, and more. Their commitment to our students and staff is truly magical.

This week, the dedication of two stellar groups of volunteers was on display at some fantastic events. Our amazing Partners in Education Foundation Scholarship Reception gave us a chance to celebrate 48 students who earned scholarships totalling more than $136,000. Thank you, PIE Foundation, for your support of our children!

The PIE Foundation support extends beyond students. This school year, educators from more than 55 campuses and departments were selected to receive more than $165,000 in grant funding. These resources have supported our teachers and staff as they brought innovative ideas, programs and equipment to our schools.

Another group of remarkable volunteers—more than 15,600 members strong—our PTAs organize events and fundraisers, advocate for resources, and support our classrooms. Just this week, our Council of PTAs created spaces at two back-to-back events for our students to learn and to shine.

The PTA Reflections Ceremony is such a great opportunity to celebrate our students—their creativity, their imagination and their heart. The theme for this year was, “Accepting Imperfections.” Imperfections are what makes each of us unique and special, which is why we focus on ensuring our students and staff not only accept, but embrace their imperfections.

The second PTA event of the week gave students and their adults a chance to learn more about co-creating safe digital spaces for children. This hands-on event brought members of the national council of PTAs to Round Rock to share their expertise and experience.

These volunteers and the countless others on our campuses every day create more opportunities for educators and students, provide essential support for teachers and staff, and help our campuses thrive as welcoming, vibrant spaces for learning.

Our community’s commitment to public education, strengthened by the dedication of our incredible volunteers, complements and enhances the work happening in our classrooms every day. We’ll soon see more than 3,600 seniors cross the stage at graduations, and we know that many of them will be there because of our volunteers, who continue to model what it means to serve.

Thank you for all you have done, and all you continue to do.

Respectfully,

Dr. Hafedh Azaiez
