Join Round Rock ISD special education services on Saturday, March 1, from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at McNeil High School for the Destination Life Transition Conference. This event connects Central Texas families with expert guidance and resources to help students with disabilities successfully transition from school to adulthood.

Families can expect to gather information and gain access to experts on how to help their student(s) with disabilities ranging from early childhood through high school to successfully transition to adulthood.

From exploring colleges, job training programs, and employment services to learning about independent living options, guardianship alternatives, and essential benefits available at age 18, this event equips families with the knowledge and support needed for a smooth and successful transition into adulthood.

“The Destination Life Transition event serves families with students in early childhood through high school—ensuring a smooth and successful transition into adulthood,” said Will Renfro, Round Rock ISD senior transition coordinator.

Service providers from a variety of organizations will be available to offer guidance and support, including representatives from state, local, and county agencies, group homes, disability-related nonprofit and for-profit companies, financial and legal planning services, as well as colleges and job training programs.

“We want every student, regardless of ability, to have the resources and support to thrive beyond high school,” said Dr. Hafedh Azaiez, Round Rock ISD superintendent of schools. “This opportunity for families to connect with experts and community partners, helps all families give their students the opportunity to achieve independence and success.
