Bryan Vardeman is the new athletic coordinator and head football coach for Cedar Ridge High School.
Coach Vardeman has more than 20 years of experience in education and coaching. Most recently, he served the students at Lewisville ISD as a business teacher focused on personal finance and has been the defensive coordinator for Flower Mound High School since 2016, providing positive leadership as an educator and a coach.
His educational experience started in Social Studies, focusing on economics, U.S. History, Government, World Geography, and Texas history. In 2013, Vardeman moved into the business world, teaching Personal Finance and Sociology. He has coached at the high school level since 2004.
“I am honored to be named Athletic Coordinator and Head Football Coach at Cedar Ridge High School in Round Rock ISD. My family and I are excited to join this incredible community! Cedar Ridge has all the components that make up a championship school, and I’m looking forward to getting started and pouring into our kids and community.”
Vardeman found passion in coaching from his own experience as a student-athlete. He was a defensive back for four years at Oklahoma State University, played in the Big XXI Conference Division 1A, and appeared at the Cotton and Houston Bowls. These experiences helped Varedeman focus on his passions and help other student-athletes become the best versions of themselves.
Area Superintendent Nancy Guerrero said she’s excited for Vardeman to become a part of the Cedar Ridge team.
“I’m very excited to welcome Coach Vardeman to the Raider team. He will be a great addition to our athletic program, which aims to foster excellence, teamwork, and sportsmanship. With his leadership and experience, I am confident he will help elevate our program to new heights and achieve greater success.”
Principal Miller welcomes Coach Vardeman with enthusiasm, “Coach Vardeman is an experienced leader who builds strong relationships with students, parents, and community members. He is committed to partnering with our teachers and staff to ensure students’ success in the classroom, on the field, and in our community. We’re excited to welcome Coach Vardeman and his family to the Raider Nation.”
Vardeman holds a bachelor’s of science degree in Secondary Education with a minor in History and Sociology from Oklahoma State University and a master’s of education degree in Education Administration from Lamar University.
His first day at Cedar Ridge High School is March 10.
