Round Rock ISD has been recognized as a Career and Technical Education (CTE) District of Distinction by the Career and Technical Association of Texas (CTAT). This honor highlights the district’s exemplary leadership, innovation, and dedication to preparing students for success through its robust Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs.
“We are so honored to receive this recognition because it validates all the hard work put in by our students, teachers, staff, business partners, and the community,” said Sheri Bonds, director of Career and Technical Education at Round Rock ISD.
The CTE District of Distinction program celebrates outstanding career and technical programs across Texas. Districts are chosen based on innovative programming, industry-based certifications, alignment with workforce needs, and exceptional student outcomes.
“We are all committed to offering cutting-edge programs to our students, fostering strong community and industry partnerships, and providing the most relevant educational experiences possible, and that’s what this award embodies,” said Bonds. “This award belongs to everyone who has supported CTE in Round Rock ISD.”
Round Rock ISD’s CTE programs include 28 pathways, such as Computer Science and Health Science. These programs offer students industry-based certifications, Advanced Placement, dual-credit courses, and work-based learning opportunities. Additionally, the district has launched its first P-TECH program in Nursing, allowing students to earn a high school diploma, associate degree, and experience with a Licensed Vocational Nurse concurrently.
This recognition underscores Round Rock ISD’s commitment to student achievement and innovation in workforce readiness, serving as a model for excellence statewide.
