Dear Round Rock ISD community,
Happy New Year! A new year traditionally symbolizes a fresh start and a chance to set new personal goals—a tradition that dates back to the Ancient Babylonians.
If you’re not where you think you should be at this point in the school year or struggled last semester, remember that setbacks are a natural part of any journey. They’re often stepping stones toward success and personal growth. Embrace the opportunity to start anew and keep moving forward!
Our district’s vision is to inspire students to learn and empower them for life. Every day, we work toward this goal by providing a wrap-around support system to guide all students on a journey of academic success and social-emotional growth.
- Our certified counselors are qualified in academic, social and emotional, college and career, and crisis response.
- District social workers provide an added layer of support, connecting families to short-term resources, therapies, and coping strategies.
- A mentor can offer valuable guidance, share knowledge, and provide encouragement, helping students navigate challenges, build confidence, and reach their goals. Our administrators, teachers, coaches, and campus staff are amazing mentors. Counselors can also match students with a peer mentor.
- We provide all students access to nutritionally balanced breakfasts and lunches. Families can apply for Free & Reduced lunch benefits anytime during the school year.
- Parent programs serve as a link between home and our Title 1 schools. The team is committed to encouraging the home and school partnership and strengthening those relationships.
- Our Families in Tradition (FiT) program ensures all district children in homeless situations have the opportunity to enroll, attend, and succeed in school. They remove barriers to education by providing our students with academic support and vital resources.
- We offer resource connections and acclimation support for our emerging bilingual families.
- Our PTA has two Clothes Closet locations, Anderson Mill IB World Elementary School and Voigt Elementary Arts Integration Academy. Families in need of clothing can obtain a voucher from their campus nurse.
Although the new year is a popular time to set goals, each day is a fresh start—a new chance to try something different and make it meaningful. Perfection is unattainable. Minor setbacks are expected when working towards goals, so don’t give up entirely due to minor mistakes. Resolve to learn from your missteps and get back on track.
Wishing you a year filled with growth, learning, and new opportunities. Remember, each day is a chance to start fresh and move closer to your goals. We’re here to support you every step of the way.
Respectfully,
Dr. Hafedh “AZ” Azaiez
Proud Superintendent of Schools
