Dear Round Rock ISD community,

Almost every day, I hear about an impressive new accolade or recognition earned by our incredible students and teachers. These remarkable achievements highlight the dedication our teachers and staff bring to ensuring our students are academically prepared for success.

Instruction in our schools goes beyond academics by encouraging authentic learning experiences that emphasize empathy and community service. Students are inspired to engage in acts of kindness and take part in meaningful service-learning projects, helping them grow as compassionate and active members of the community.

Students, classes, and campuses across our district commit themselves to building a culture of giving. These stories are just a glimpse of the extraordinary ways our students, staff, and community come together to make a difference during the holidays and year-round.

Grisham Middle School hosted its second annual “Grizzgiving” community dinner, serving over 800 students, families, teachers, and area residents with contributions from a canned food drive.

Students in Mrs. Chin’s fourth-grade class at Laurel Mountain Elementary School learned how to make Biscuits and Gravy Casserole to help feed around 100 homeless individuals through the Charlie Center in Austin.

Canyon Creek, Fern Bluff, and Sommer Elementary schools are organizing holiday toy drives. With a local community partner Round Rock High School student council has organized a Spirit of Giving Gathering to serve 134 families from our schools.

Our Families in Transition team coordinates employee giving for over 850 students placed in foster care and families experiencing homelessness.

We are equally blessed to have community partners who generously support our students. All for Lunch paid off student lunch debt at all 17 Title I schools in our district, relieving families of this financial burden. Additionally, community partners of the Round Rock Opportunity Center gifted each student a pie to enjoy during the Thanksgiving holiday.

The power of kindness and giving are cornerstones of a thriving community. When students take part in charitable projects, we not only help those in need but also inspire our young leaders to build a more compassionate and connected world.

Thank you for your continued support in fostering a culture of empathy and giving that strengthens our schools and community. Together, we are building a brighter future for all.

Respectfully,

Dr. Azaiez
