Round Rock ISD has strengthened its dyslexia support program by developing two new in-district trainers certified in State Board of Education (SBOE) approved dyslexia programs. These efforts are part of the district’s initiative to enhance instruction for students with dyslexia, ensuring they receive high-quality, multisensory language instruction.
Dyslexia Instructional Specialist Allison Raney became the district’s second Wilson® Credentialed Trainer this summer, joining Katie Bryan, who was certified in 2019. Raney recently certified six district teachers in the Wilson Reading System® (WRS) and is set to mentor seven more this school year. Additionally, Dyslexia Program Specialist Ashli Framjee earned her Trainer Certification for the Reading by Design program, a widely used curriculum for struggling readers, implemented across all Round Rock ISD campuses.
Raney and Framjee have extensive experience within the district and are committed to supporting educators in delivering effective, targeted dyslexia instruction. Their roles include conducting training sessions, offering professional development, and providing ongoing mentorship to ensure educators are well-equipped to help students with dyslexia succeed.
“We’re fortunate to have in-district trainers to support our staff,” said Donna Wise, Director of Dyslexia Services. “The addition of these two dedicated professionals ensures that every campus has fully trained teachers, meeting the highest standards for our students’ education.”
