Faezana Ali is the new principal of Gattis Elementary School.

She brings with her more than ten years of experience in education. Since 2021, she has served the students and staff at Cedar Ridge High School as an assistant principal, providing leadership to the Instructional Framework Committee, a new-to-campus/new-hire mentor teacher program, and helping to implement a strategic scope and sequence for the professional development of her staff, among many other accomplishments.

Her leadership philosophy is rooted in the belief that every student deserves a voice and a place in the educational community.

Ali said she’s honored to serve the Gator community.

“I am looking forward to building a school where every student is valued, supported, and inspired to grow,” she said. “At Gattis, we will nurture strong relationships, collaborate with intention, and use data to guide our decisions, ensuring that each child’s unique needs are met. By embracing our core values of integrity, relationships, voice, collaboration, and heart, we will prepare our Gators to thrive in their academic journey and beyond.”

Ali started her educational career as the science department chair in Elgin ISD before transitioning to Round Rock ISD to be the 8th-grade team Lead and educator at Canyon Vista Middle School.

It was there Ali found the passion to be a servant leader, as well as an educator.

She hopes to inspire and support the growth of her fellow staff members while reinforcing a culture of inclusivity that ensures all staff feel supported and valued.

Nancy Guerrero, Area Superintendent of the Cedar Ridge Learning Community, said she’s excited to have Ali continue to be part of the Cedar Ridge Learning Community.

“Ms. Ali is dedicated to ensuring access and opportunity for every student through building positive relationships and strengthening instructional systems. I know she will be a strong leader and will be committed to serving the entire Gattis community,” Guerrero said.

Ali holds a bachelor’s degree in Biology and UTeach from the University of Texas and a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Texas State University.

Her first day with Gattis Elementary is September 30.
