The Texas Association of School Administrators (TASA) and the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) announced that C.D. Fulkes Middle School was one of 41 projects chosen for the 2024-25 Exhibit of School Architecture competition.
The 2024-25 Stars of Distinction Award recognizes school architecture projects that exemplify excellence in planning and designing the learning environment. This exhibit of new and renovated Texas school facilities includes projects from 30 school districts, two college systems, and one state school that 21 architectural firms submitted.
Even with the many renovations and updates, from gym floors to mural designs, some of the original flooring from the previous building was used as a seating area in the library. Details like those were what set C.D. Fulkes’ building to be recognized through design, value, wellness, and transformation when a 12-member jury reviewed it.
C.D. Fulkes Middle School was the most significant project voted on by citizens through the 2018 Bond. It’s state-of-the-art building opened in August 2022.
Round Rock ISD will be part of the projects showcased at txEDCON24, the TASA | TASB Convention, and online through Texas School Architecture.
