Briana Flores is the new Forest Creek Elementary School principal.

Flores has served as an educator for the past 14 years, holding positions from an educational assistant to an assistant principal at the elementary and middle school levels. She has been with Round Rock ISD since 2012 and, in 2019, was named Hernandez IB® World Middle School‘s Teacher of the Year. Most recently, Flores served at Blackland Prairie Elementary Leadership Academy as assistant principal.

The results of Flores’s leadership include building teachers’ capacity in early literacy practices, culturally responsive teaching, high-quality and equitable instruction, and consistent, impactful classroom systems and routines.

“Students need love, a sense of purpose, opportunities, a robust support system, and the best education,” said Flores. “As principal, I will inspire and empower teachers and all stakeholders to provide all students with the necessary components for success.”

Flores holds a Bachelor of Science degree in biological sciences from Colorado Mesa University and earned her master’s degree in educational leadership from Stephen F. Austin University.

Flores is an empathic leader who uses her leadership experiences to effectively provide differentiated support to staff and students so everyone can succeed, said Nancy Guerrero, Cedar Ridge Learning Community area superintendent.

“She is dedicated to cultivating a culture of positivity, support, and collaboration within the Forest Creek learning community,” said Guerrero.

Flores’s first day at Forest Creek will be Monday, July 8.
