Vanessa Randels is the new Chandler Oaks Elementary IB® World School principal.
Randels brings 21 years of elementary education experience, including 13 years as a classroom teacher. She has been recognized as a Gilbert, Arizona, Public Schools elementary Teacher of the Year and has served six years as an associate principal with two years as principal in Central Texas schools.
In her school leadership roles, Randels has led efforts to improve curriculum alignment, implement data-driven instructional practices, and create a safe and supportive learning environment where all students can thrive.
“My passion is to empower students as leaders to take ownership of their learning and become active contributors to their school community, ” said Randels. “I am eager to serve the Chandler Oaks community and build strong relationships.”
Randels replaces retiring principal Kelley Hirt, who has served the Chandler Oaks community since 2014.
Randels holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in education from Arizona State University at Tempe, and earned her master’s degree in elementary education from Grand Canyon University.

“She arrives at Chandler Oaks Elementary School with an outstanding track record of community service and delivering significant results for all,” said Faris.
Randels’s first day at Chandler Oaks will be Monday, July 8.
