Surrounded by family, friends, and staff, P-TECH’s first cohort of 24 aspiring nurses took their first step towards a future in high-skill health science careers as licensed vocational nurses by signing their program letter of intent.

In September 2023, Round Rock ISD shared exciting news about being awarded a grant from the Texas Education Agency to introduce a health sciences Pathways in Technology Early College High School Program—applications for this groundbreaking opportunity opened in February 2024.

P-TECH represents a unique partnership between public and private entities, including Austin Community College and St. David’s Health Care. This program offers aspiring nurses a no-cost, dual-credit educational experience, blending hands-on high school learning with college courses.

Eighth-grade students from any district middle school who meet all requirements for promotion from eighth to ninth grade are eligible to apply. Tuition, textbooks, and transportation* are INCLUDED.
