Canyon Vista Middle School and Cactus Ranch Elementary School have been ranked the best in Central Texas by Houston-based nonprofit Children at Risk.
“We feel immense pride in the notable achievements and advancement observed across several schools within Round Rock ISD,” said Dr. Byron Gerard, Assistant Superintendent of Student Support Services. “We commend the dedicated efforts of our school campus teams in enhancing academic, social, and emotional outcomes for students.”
Children at Risk ranks Texas public schools on several factors, including student achievement, progress and performance gaps. High schools are also judged on college readiness.
Gerard said the District’s goal is to work toward eliminating categories designating students as “at risk,” and to emphasize the holistic approach students need to succeed.
“This study serves as a reminder that fostering a culture of excellence, geared towards preparing every student for a purposeful future in their career, college, or military endeavors” truly results in the best outcomes for our students, he said.
