Ebony Parks is the new principal of Hernandez IB® World Middle School.
Parks has served as a middle school principal in a neighboring school district for two years and as associate principal for four years. In 2020, she was named Region XIII Assistant Principal of the Year. Parks has served as an English Language Learning Coach and middle school Pre-AP ELA teacher, where she planned curriculum and engaged data to improve student outcomes. Before settling in Central Texas, she taught middle and high school English in Illinois, Nebraska, and Puerto Rico for six years.
As principal, Parks improved campus systems, structures, and practices by working with her instructional teams to create equitable and inclusive “ready classrooms.” She is a restorative practices trainer and passionate advocate for positively impacting responses for improving student behavior.
“I am beyond excited for the opportunity to serve the Hernandez community! I look forward to partnering with all of our stakeholders to continue the great work already taking place,” said Parks. “I am eager to build strong relationships and to support the mission of nurturing, challenging and empowering all!
Parks has over 17 years of experience in education. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary English Language Arts and earned her Master’s in Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Doane College. She has an educational specialist postgraduate degree in educational leadership from Liberty University.
