Jessica Rinehart is the new principal of Caraway Elementary School.
Rinehart began her career with Round Rock ISD in 2010 at Caraway Elementary School. She spent nine years in the classroom as a Kindergarten, second and fourth-grade teacher. Recently she has served as a Westwood High School associate principal. Rinehart has focused on developing and implementing student intervention and enrichment opportunities throughout her career. And she helps train and provide effective data analysis resources to her learning community.
While at Westwood High School, Rinehart implemented the faculty mentor program. The mentor program provided students the opportunity to set goals and develop positive relationships with mentors. Additionally, she guided the math department with TEKS-aligned interventions and digital resource banks for students and families – a model adopted the following year by all departments across the campus. Rinehart’s other accomplishments include her work in crafting educator professional development and leading the campus IB® Leadership Council.
“I am honored to serve the Kathy Caraway Elementary School community as your proud principal. I believe that building respectful and caring relationships is at the heart of a successful school community,” said Rinehart. “I look forward to partnering with our students, staff, and families to foster a culture of collaboration and trust where every student can thrive academically and emotionally.”
Rinehart has championed the needs of students as a Round Rock ISD elementary teacher, curriculum developer, elementary and secondary administrative intern, interventionist, and secondary assistant and associate principal.
She holds a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from the University of Texas at Austin, specializing in ESL. And she earned her Master’s in Education from the Texas Principal Leadership Academy at the University of Texas at Austin.
