The Round Rock ISD School Health Advisory Council (SHAC) is seeking feedback from the community regarding the recommended adoption of a high school health textbook for the high school health course. The SHAC is seeking feedback prior to making a final recommendation to the Round Rock ISD Board of Trustees during the Fall of 2023.
Parents and community members can review the single textbook option that was approved by The Texas Education Agency (TEA) and provide feedback in person. The following dates and times are come-and-go events:
COMMUNITY SHOWCASE SCHEDULE:
MONDAY, MAY 22, 2023: 4:30 – 7 p.m.
WEDNESDAY, MAY 24, 2023: 8:30 – 11 a.m.
THURSDAY, MAY 25, 2023: 8:30 – 11 a.m.
THURSDAY, JUNE 1, 2023: 4:30 – 7:00 p.m.
There will be no formal presentations at these sessions; rather, these sessions are an opportunity for community members to access the resource and complete feedback forms. The state standards for the high school health course will also be available to compare against the textbook’s content.
The showcases will be held at the Old Hopewell Conference Center, located at the Lillie Delgado Administration building.
