The top 50 percent of Round Rock ISD high school graduates are granted guaranteed admission and scholarship opportunities thanks to a Distinguished High School Partnership Program agreement between Round Rock Independent School District and Tarleton State University.
The memorandum of understanding signed by Round Rock ISD Superintendent of Schools Dr. Hafedh Azaiez and Tarleton State University President Dr. James Hurley ensures higher education opportunities for the District’s high-achieving students following high school graduation.
“The Round Rock ISD and Tarleton State University distinguished school partnership empower our college-bound students to earn a college degree, realize their dreams, and reach their potential,” said Dr. Hafedh Azaiez. “This partnership is a clear example of how our District prepares our students for and gives them access to higher education opportunities.”
Graduates within the top 50 percent of their respective classes from District high schools will also have the ACT and SAT college entrance exam requirements waived and application fees for eligible students.
Round Rock ISD graduates who qualify for Tarleton’s Guaranteed Scholarship Program (GSP) and attend Tarleton University will receive an award guarantee of $1,000 above the GSP level for which they are eligible. If the student ranks in the top 10 percent of their graduating class or $500 above the GSP level for which they qualify if they are ranked in the top 50 percent (but not 10 percent) of their graduating class. GSP eligibility criteria and award levels are available on the Tarleton University website.
Tarleton State University is a member of The Texas A&M University System. Interested students and their families can visit with their school counselor for more information.
