The Round Rock ISD Partners in Education (PIE) Foundation has partnered with the Nelson Family Life Foundation to raise funds for their respective organizations. Through a water pass donation made possible by Kalahari Round Rock, 50 percent of every waterpark pass sale that takes place on March 22 will be shared equally between the PIE Foundation and the Nelson Family Life Foundation’s Water Colors Life Project in recognition of World Water Day.

“We are so grateful for the opportunity to shed light and raise funds to support two unquestionable essentials that lead to a quality life and healthy communities: education and water; whether right here in Round Rock or thousands of miles away in Africa”, said Marianne Reap, executive director of the Round Rock ISD Partners in Education Foundation. Waterpark passes can be purchased for the discounted price of $49.99 through Round Rock ISD’s PIE Foundation portal.

“This is a win/win for the Round Rock community and both foundations,” continued Reap. “Not only are we raising funds for two very important causes, we are able to offer discounted waterpark admission passes to the largest indoor waterpark in Texas!”
The Nelson Family Life Foundation was founded by the Nelson family, owners and operators of Kalahari Resorts & Conventions, who opened their fourth waterpark resort in Round Rock in November 2020.

The Water Colors Life Project is an initiative of the Nelson Family Life Foundation that seeks to provide sustainable clean water to communities in Africa while also highlighting the talent of artists in the region. Through these efforts, borewells are being created, so artists can spend more time on their craft and less time worrying about where to get clean water, hospitals to have nearby access to clean water, and students to shift their time traveling up to three hours roundtrip for water every day of their lives.

“Our family cannot express enough how passionate we are about our foundation’s Water Colors Life Project,” said Travis Nelson, Vice President, Director of the Nelson Family Life Foundation, and President of Kalahari Resorts & Conventions. “Africa is a beautiful continent that we have had the opportunity to visit nearly every year for the past 25 years. Through our partnership with Round Rock Independent School District Partners in Education Foundation, we are excited to continue to fulfill our mission of providing clean, accessible and safe water to artistic communities in Africa, and supporting the Round Rock community.“
