Dear Round Rock ISD Community,

Each year in November, we come together as one community to honor the men and women who served for our freedom in the armed forces. Their sacrifices are endless, and their bravery in defending our country is immeasurable. Their commitment  allows us the freedom to wake up each day to educate others in a safe learning environment and to continue to build our knowledge so that we can contribute to our communities as citizens and participate in our democracy through voting. The list of the freedoms that have resulted from their sacrifices goes on and on, and for that, we say thank you.

Our gratitude continues as many veterans in our community have elected to continue protecting the future of our country by supporting the education of our students, the future leaders of our nation, by serving in our classrooms, campuses, departments and facilities. Regardless of their role, they are helping build lifelong learners and leaders and serving as an example for students who may choose to one day follow in their footsteps. We are proud to be the home of so many men and women representing all branches of the military, and their service brings pride to our campuses that beams every day.

Our campuses have celebrated veterans in their schools and communities throughout the week with parades and assemblies and other expressions of love and appreciation. I hope all us of take the opportunity to honor our nation’s heroes today, and that throughout the year we remember their sacrifices to keep our nation safe and make our world a better place.

Thank you again to all of our veterans for your service and all you have done for our country. You are invaluable to the success of our students and as members of our community.

May God bless you, and God bless the United States of America.

Respectfully,

Dr. Hafedh Azaiez
