For his work to establish the District’s four pillars of school policing model, Jeffrey Yarbrough, former Round Rock ISD Police Chief, was awarded the Law Enforcement Achievement Award by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE).
Each year, TCOLE presents the award to peace officers, reserve officers, jailers, custodial officers or telecommunicators who exceed the normal expectations of job performance through acts of professional achievement, public service, or valor. Yarbrough was nominated by his peers for the award and will officially receive his award during TCOLE’s recognition ceremony at the House of Representatives Chamber at the State Capitol in June.
The four pillars of school policing model focuses on school safety, racial equity, behavioral health, and student advocacy. Built into the model is a team of social workers who work alongside District officers to find non-law enforcement solutions to address student needs and promote positive outcomes properly.
