Round Rock ISD is excited to announce all students will be able to keep their District-issued Chromebook over the summer. Having access to a Chromebook device promotes consistency and equitable access to online learning opportunities for all students.
Students who participate in the District-provided summer learning programs such as high school summer learning, Middle School Propel, and Elementary Launch will need to bring their Chromebooks with them each day. Students not participating in Round Rock ISD summer learning in-person programs can benefit by using the device to pursue personal learning activities such as the online Summer Learning For All.
Students who do not have a District-issued Chromebook should check one out from their campus before Wednesday, May 25.
Graduating seniors need to turn their devices in on or before senior device collection days, Friday, May 20, or Monday, May 23. Seniors, please ask your campus administration for additional details on how to return your device.
FAQs
Q: What if we move during the summer or are withdrawing from the District?
A: If you are moving to another Round Rock ISD campus during the summer, your child can keep the Chromebook and take it with them to their new campus. Be sure to let the new campus know that you have been provided a Chromebook.
If you are withdrawing from Round Rock ISD over the summer, per the device lending agreement, it is your responsibility to return the Chromebook and charger to the campus or to the Round Rock ISD Technology Center (call ahead to set up a drop off time: 512-464-5167), located at 7700 Cornerwood Dr. Please note that Round Rock ISD offices and campuses are closed from June 20 through July 4 and will not be able to accept device returns during this time. Please plan ahead.
Q: Can I still access my resources in Classlink over the summer?
A: Yes, student Classlink accounts will remain available for students over the summer break.
