Dr. Travis Mutscher has been named the Area Superintendent of the Stony Point Learning Community.

Dr. Mutscher has served as the principal of Ridgeview Middle School since 2014 and during that time has led several successful initiatives. These include the implementation of restorative practices to build, maintain and restore healthy relationships for students and staff, as well as enrichment days to engage students in areas of passion and interest for the future. He revised the placement policy to increase the number of students exposed to the accelerated math curriculum, which led to more students taking Algebra and Geometry. He also facilitated professional development opportunities for teachers to gain experience in leadership roles and share ideas with each other from the classroom. Before his role as principal, he helped lead Ridgeview and Hernandez Middle School as an assistant principal. He has 20 years of experience in education and spent five years as a classroom teacher.

“I am humbled and honored to serve as the next Area Superintendent for the Stony Point Learning Community,” Dr. Mutscher said. “I look forward to serving our students, staff, and parents as we prioritize the goals of the community. I strongly believe that every student will reach their full potential if the proper supports are in place for a successful learning environment. This includes high expectations for academic success while also emphasizing building relationships that tend to our students’ and staff’s social and emotional needs. I am eager to return to the Stony Point Learning Community!”

Dr. Mutscher earned his Doctorate in School Improvement and Master’s in both Educational Administration and Organizational Communication from Texas State University. He also holds  a Bachelor’s in Speech Communication from the University of Texas in Austin.

“Dr. Mutscher will provide outstanding leadership support to the Stony Point Learning Community,” Senior Chief of Schools and Innovation Dr. Daniel Presley said. “He is a champion for success at all grade levels and an advocate for all students.”

Area Superintendents of Round Rock ISD’s five Vertical Learning Communities serve under Dr. Presley.
