As the rollout of COVID-19 vaccines slowly gets underway in Texas, Round Rock ISD leaders are actively advocating for school district staff members to receive the vaccine as soon as possible and exploring options for facilitating vaccinations for District employees.

Before the start of the Spring semester, and with the Williamson County and Cities Health District’s help, Round Rock ISD school nurses had the opportunity to receive the vaccine. On Thursday, Jan. 7, Round Rock ISD staff who are 65 years old and older were invited to receive the COVID-19 vaccine at a designated vaccine clinic at Ascension Seton Williamson, a collaboration made possible by the Ascension Seton and Round Rock ISD Partners In Education Foundation partnership.

As Ascension Seton continues to receive additional doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, they and Round Rock ISD will continue to expand vaccine operations consistent with federal and state guidance.

District leaders are also working to secure more partnerships such as the one with Ascension Seton and will keep staff informed of any opportunities to receive the vaccine.

More information on the vaccine distribution in Texas is available on the Department of State Health Services website. The website also features an interactive map updated by the Texas Department of State Health Services to locate providers offering the vaccine and the current availability at that location.
