Tech update regarding student logins

As the District dismissed for winter break, an internal reset of District systems changed some student’s login passwords. The District sent an email to parents/guardians on Saturday, Dec. 19 at 4:09 p.m. with information on how to request a password reset.

300 Round Rock ISD families receive gifts and food for the holidays.

The Round Rock ISD State and Federal programs department’s annual giving event looked a little different this year, but that did not stop them from spreading some holiday cheer. Executive Director Laura Segers says, “This year I think, it’s a deeper need and a need that maybe we haven’t seen in years past.”

Round Rock ISD Asks Governor To Give School Personnel Priority in Receiving Vaccine

Acting Superintendent Dr. Daniel Presley and Board of Trustees President Amy Weir joined districts across Texas and organizations including the Texas Association of School Administrators, the Texas Association of School Boards and the Texas School Alliance in asking Gov. Greg Abbott to include school personnel as frontline workers and include them in the next tier of priority individuals to receive the COVID-19 vaccine in a letter sent this week.

Purple Sage Elementary collects items for local food pantry.

Purple Sage Elementary has been busy gathering food to donate a local food pantry. Principal Nelson said, “when we put the call out for food the response was overwhelming.” Purple Sage Elementary will donate all items collected to the Round Rock Serving Center this week.

Round Rock ISD to hold a public hearing of the TAPR/Annual Report

In January, Round Rock ISD will hold a public hearing of its annual report, a large component of which is the recently released 2019-2020 Texas Academic Performance Report (TAPR).  The TAPR compiles a wide range of information on student performance in each Texas school and district. Performance measures include State of Texas Assessment of Academic Readiness (STAAR) results; dropout and attendance rates; college, career, and military readiness; and participation in readiness assessments.

Round Rock ISD Police Department: The Four Pillars of Service

In February, the Round Rock ISD Board of Trustees voted unanimously to create a police department within the district. The newly established Round Rock ISD Police Department functions under four pillars of service. The pillars are safety and security, equity, behavioral health and student advocacy. Using the pillars as a guide, Police Chief Jeffrey Yarbrough says this is a school police department unlike any other in its approach to protecting students and staff.
