In the best interest of staff and student safety, Round Rock ISD’s five comprehensive high schools will not be competing in the University Interscholastic League (UIL) Marching Band competitions this school year.
The District’s decision was based on recommendations from the band directors, the Fine Arts Department and guidance from local health authorities. Round Rock ISD joins Leander ISD, Austin ISD, Pflugerville ISD, and Manor ISD, who have all chosen not to compete for student and staff health and safety concerns.
High school band directors will continue to pursue students’ opportunities to perform and compete as public health conditions permit throughout the year.
