Brandy Hafner has been named Round Rock ISD’s new Director of Health Services. She will replace Elaine Douville, who retired at the end of the 2019-2020 school year.
As Director of Health Services, Hafner will collaborate daily with campuses and campus nurses across Round Rock ISD to ensure the District’s policies and procedures are designed and implemented in the best interests of students and staff and remain in line with those provided by both the Travis and Williamson County Health Departments and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Also, she will work with the Health Services Department, campuses, and departments to advocate for school health and develop resources and processes to best serve students and families across the District.
“I’m excited to continue to serve Round Rock ISD in this capacity and will work tirelessly to ensure that we meet the health and wellness needs of our community,” Hafner said. “I know now more than ever our students’ and staff health will be at the forefront, and I’m proud to be a part of these efforts and work alongside our amazing Health Services staff to keep our community safe and healthy.”
Since 2017, Hafner has served as the Health Services Team Leader for the Westwood Learning Community. While in this role, she worked closely with campus nurses, fellow health services team leaders, and the Director of Health Services to develop and implement decisions to best serve the health needs of students and staff to address issues affecting campuses. Before taking the role of Health Services Team Leader, she served as a school nurse in Round Rock ISD, Pflugerville ISD, and Austin ISD and a nurse at various hospitals around Central Texas. She has 25 years of experience in healthcare and as a nurse.
Hafner is a graduate of the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
