The Round Rock ISD Board of Trustees approved boundary changes for England, Herrington, Caraway and Teravista elementary schools at the Board’s regular monthly meeting on Thursday, February 20, 2020. Also approved were proposed feeder pattern adjustments for Joe Lee Johnson Elementary School and C.D. Fulkes Middle School, which allows for better alignment for students transitioning from elementary to middle to high schools. The largest change for Herrington Elementary was made to create an attendance zone for the yet-to-be-constructed Elementary 35, scheduled to open for the 2021-2022 school year. All other approved boundary changes will take effect for the 2020–2021 school year.
“In Round Rock ISD we are fortunate that our families love their neighborhood schools. And families love our District so much, they continue to move here to be part of our community,” Board President Amy Weir said. “Our continued growth means we must make difficult decisions, but, as a Board, we must consider what is in the interest of all students.”
The boundary adjustments follow a series of boundary hearings, opportunities for public feedback and a Board workshop aimed at reviewing boundaries to address campus capacity, align feeder patterns and prepare for the opening of Elementary 35 in Fall 2021.
A recording of the meeting and presentations will be posted on the Board Meeting website.
