“We are sincerely grateful to all of our partners from the Austin and Round Rock area who came out to spend a great day of golf while helping to raise funds to support our teachers and students,”said Marianne Reap, executive director of the Foundation. “Since this was a make-up date from our Fall tournament that was rained out we couldn’t have been happier with the turnout.”
Rounding out the fundraising efforts with over $16,000 in donations were hole sign sponsorships representing Austin and Round Rock businesses who contributed to the event. In the restaurant row, a unique feature of the PIE Foundation Golf Classic, a total of 20 businesses, including BBQ from Atmos Energy, Napa Flats, GattiTown, Pok-E-Jo’s and more, provided dinner for the hungry golfers after the round.
Trane placed first among the 36 participating teams with Bob Cervi, Wally Bomhoff, Tim McSwain & Garrard Esposito. Citizens National Bank placed second, followed by the players representing PT Products coming in third.
“Our partners continue to amaze us with their commitment to education and to the Foundation and our mission,” said Lisa Cauble, Foundation President. We are looking forward to working with them again in October at our Fall tournament.”
