The Round Rock ISD Board of Trustees have approved to name the District’s administration building the Lillie Delgado Administration Building, in honor of Lillie Delgado, a member of the Round Rock ISD family who served students and staff for 42 years.
“Lillie Delgado was an exceptional woman who gave her life to the students and community of Round Rock ISD,” Board President Diane M. Cox said. “Her ability to live life to the fullest while serving our community will be one of the things that I will forever remember about her. She will always be a part of the Round Rock ISD family, and it’s an honor to be able to recognize her contributions to our District.”
Lillie Delgado was a member of the Round Rock ISD Family who passed away on April 4, 2012. She faithfully served the students and staff of Round Rock ISD for more than 40 years as a teacher’s aide and as the Secretary to the Superintendent from 1977 to 2012. Her colleagues describe her legacy as one full of community service, kindness and as a champion for students.
At the April 19, 2018 Board of Trustees meeting, the Board recommended naming the administration building in honor of Lillie Delgado. The community was then given the opportunity to provide feedback until May 9 for the Board of Trustees to review. The results of the responses were overwhelmingly in support of the naming.
The District’s administration building is located at 1311 Round Rock Ave. in Round Rock.
