Round Rock ISD students from Grisham and Deerpark middle schools and Westwood High School successfully competed at the Texas Science and Engineering Fair (TSEF), winning a total of five awards.
TSEF, operated by the University of Texas at San Antonio College of Sciences, is an annual state science competition for students in sixth through 12th grade. The fair provides an opportunity for discourse among like-minded, high-achieving middle and high school students across Texas, according to TSEF.
“The talent present throughout our District continues to impress me each day,” Superintendent Steve Flores, Ph.D. said. “These students represent the high level of knowledge and skill that Round Rock ISD students have to offer while showcasing their outstanding work at the state level.”
The winning students for the senior category are listed below with their respective schools and awards:
- Aarya Agarwal, first place in embedded systems, Westwood,
- Sindhuja Uppuluri, second place in plant science, Westwood and
- Prabhav Vanguri, second place in robotics and intelligent machines, Westwood.
The winning students for the junior category are listed below with their respective schools and awards:
- Shoumik Roychowdhury, third place in computational biology and bioinformatics, Grisham and
- Faith Larimore, third place in physics and astronomy, Deerpark.
