The Round Rock ISD Board of Trustees appointed Steve Math as the new Trustee for Place 6 during their regular meeting on Nov. 16.

Math currently works as the Senior Vice President of Underwriting and Field Operations at Texas Mutual Insurance Company and has served the District previously as a member of the 2016 Citizen’s Bond Committee and as a volunteer to the Westwood High School Band. He is a parent of the Westwood community and is a graduate of Massachusetts Technology Institute (MIT) and the University of Texas at Dallas.

“I want to thank the Board of Trustees for the thoughtful deliberation given to this decision and I look forward to serving the parents, students, staff and community members of Round Rock ISD,” Math said.

To solidify his appointment to the Board of Trustees, Math was officially sworn in as a Board member during the meeting and immediately began duties as a Trustee.

“Steve Math is a passionate advocate for our students and community,” ‘Board President Diane Cox said. “We had four amazing candidates and one seat and we hope to see all that applied continue be involved in our District. With our Board now complete, we are excited for Trustee Math to bring those attributes to the Round Rock ISD Board of Trustees and feel that he will do an outstanding job in keeping the best interests of our students and the community at the forefront. ”

Math was selected for appointment after an interview and application process that took place from Oct. 13 to Nov. 9. The reopening of the appointment process was called on Oct. 10 after Trustees revamped the application process by revising the application for appointed Board members and including a background check in the screening process.
