The National Dance Education Organization has recognized Round Rock ISD Dance Coordinator Denise Cochran for her work to develop dance education, presenting her with the NDEO’s Outstanding Service and Leadership Award.
“We are so proud of Denise and all she does not only for the dance programs of Round Rock ISD but also for dance at the state and national level,” Fine Arts Director Lisa Roebuck said. “She is an outstanding asset to our students and families, and we are fortunate to have such a passionate individual working tirelessly to enhance dance education for all.”
In addition to her role as Dance Coordinator, Cochran currently serves as the Middle School Dance Program Coordinator and the Coordinator for Elementary dance for Berkman, Wells Branch and Voigt Art Integration Academies. Cochran, who was nominated for the award by the Texas site committee, has been a dance educator and administrator in public education for 32 years.
