Superintendent of Schools Dr. Steve Flores named Gordon Perez, Round Rock ISD Associate Director of Administrative Projects, as Round Rock ISD’s Superintendent’s RRock Star for October 2017.
As Associate Director of Administrative Projects, Perez works with families across the District to ensure that their educational needs are met. His work to better the lives of families in Round Rock was honored in 2015 when he was presented with the Legend Award by RecognizeGood for his community service work with El Amistad Club, where he helped raise thousands of dollars to fund scholarships for Round Rock ISD students.
More recently, he was instrumental in responding to a student in need after concern was identified through the District tool Gaggle. The service is used to identify potential concerns toward student safety made on the District’s network. After identifying the need for intervention, Perez went straight into action, contacted the authorities and helped avert a potential situation of a student engaging in self-harm.
“Mr. Perez is a true collaborator with a passion for helping all students succeed and assisting families in their pursuit of the highest level of education possible,” Dr. Flores said. “His contributions to our District have been countless and we are thankful to have him as a member of our Round Rock ISD family.”
RRock Star is a distinction awarded by the Superintendent to a member of the Round Rock ISD team who impacts students across our District.
