Round Rock ISD Superintendent of Schools Dr. Steve Flores named Yvonne Jeffery, crossing guard at Pond Springs Elementary, as the RRock Star for September.

Yvonne has been a crossing guard at Purple Sage for seventeen years, and according to Pond Springs principal, Brooke Elarms, the students love her.

“Yvonne is always smiling and her positive attitude is contagious,” Elarms said. “She builds relationships with students, families, and staff alike. She is thoughtful and generous with her countless acts of kindness such as providing haircuts to students in need and treating our staff to homemade goodies. There is nothing she can’t do and is known as our jack-of-all-trades. I can’t say enough about the value she brings to the Pond Springs Community. We love our Ms. Yvonne.”

Yvonne also volunteers to give students free haircuts at the annual Round Rock ISD School Supply Sunday/Kutz 4 Kidz event. This year she gave 77 haircuts in three hours.

“Yvonne is precisely who we are talking about when we say One Family,” Superintendent of Schools Steve Flores said. “She is a positive force for our Pond Springs and District community and exemplifies our call to action of allowing positivity to prevail. It is this kind of commitment to our students that makes Round Rock ISD a Destination District for Public Schools.”
