England Elementary School second-grade student Kanak Yadav placed 28th among 47 girls across the world in the IMG World Championship golf tournament in San Diego this summer.

“I really enjoyed playing in the world championship because there were so many girls from different countries,” Kanak said. “I made so many new friends.”

Yadav started playing golf at the age of four and has since traveled all over the United States competing in golf tournaments. This summer alone she placed 35th in the U.S. Kids World Championship in North Carolina, won the Future Texas state championship for her age category in Dallas, won the Austin City Junior Championship and was runner up in the Starbust Junior Classic tournament. Yadav hopes to be a professional golf player when she grows up.
