Correction: A previous version of the article stated that he has served as a member of the PTA for 11 years. He has served since 2011.
The Round Rock ISD Board of Trustees has appointed Stuart Selvaggi as the new Trustee for Place 6 during a called Board meeting on Aug. 14.
Selvaggi, who works in real estate services, has been an active member of the Round Rock ISD PTA since 2011 and is a graduate of Westwood High School. He is also a member of the Forest North Elementary WATCH D.O.G.S. program and National Eagle Scout Association. His leadership philosophy as a Board of Trustee will be to always focus on what is best for students and to provide a unique perspective as a Round Rock ISD graduate and parent of three, he said.
“I want to thank the Board of Trustees for the opportunity to serve the Round Rock ISD community and its students, teachers and staff members,” Selvaggi said. “I look forward to serving our community as a Trustee, sharing my passion for education and helping our District move forward and provide a quality education to all students.”
To solidify his appointment to the Board of Trustees, Selvaggi was officially sworn in as a Board member during the workshop and immediately began duties as a Trustee.
“Stuart brings immense knowledge of our District, passion, and dedication to the Round Rock ISD Board of Trustees,” Board President Diane Cox said. “We welcome him as a Board member and look forward to working with him to further align our District goals to best meet our student’s needs.”
Selvaggi was selected after an interview and application process that took place from June 21 to July 26. The process was called on June 20 after Trustees selected to go through the appointment process.
The replacement follows the resignation of Trustee Paul Tisch, who served two terms on the board.
