In an effort to strengthen and better serve campuses across Round Rock ISD, Superintendent of Schools Dr. Steve Flores has announced a learning community leadership model that provides each feeder pattern an Area Superintendent of Learning Community. This model allows each feeder pattern to have an assigned administrative leader for support, ensuring campuses are equally served.
“In Round Rock ISD, we are a family, and family takes care of each other,” Dr. Flores said. “This model allows us to further personalize support to campuses and build stronger learning communities. Educational innovation and student support will always drive our initiatives , and we look forward to seeing the results this model offers our learning communities during the 2017 – 2018 school year.”
The restructuring includes the transition of Executive Director of Elementary Schools Carla Amacher, Executive Director of Secondary Schools Becky Donald, and Executive Director of Educational Support John Yonker to Area Superintendent of Learning Community positions overseeing the Round Rock, Westwood and McNeil high school learning communities. Yonker will serve McNeil, Donald will serve Westwood and Amacher will serve the Round Rock learning community.
The selections for the Cedar Ridge and Stony Point high school Area Superintendent of Learning Community positions will be announced later this week.
The restructure comes after administrative discussion and community feedback on how the District can further enhance campus support, build stronger community relationships and reduce overall costs. With the restructuring of current leadership positions, the transition to the Area Superintendent of Learning Community model was implemented with minimal additional financial impact through realignment of staffing positions.
The Area Superintendent of Learning Community team will serve under Senior Chief of Schools and Innovation Dr. Daniel Presley.
