The Round Rock ISD Board of Trustees approved a 2 percent districtwide pay increase for the 2017-2018 school year at its May 11 Board Workshop.

The salary increase will cost the District $6.7 million and is included in the 2017-2018 budget, slated to be adopted in June. This is the second year the Board has approved 2 percent salary increases.

“We are committed as a Board to supporting our employees as we serve all students,” Board President Diane Cox said. “I am proud of this Board’s action to continue the investment and support of our employees and remain competitive in our compensation with the rest of Central Texas.”

The new salary increases are as follows:

Teachers, Librarians, Registered Nurses

  • Increase starting salary to $45,000 and
  • Eligible employees will receive a $1,000 general pay increase.

Counselors and Other Licensed Professionals

  • Increase starting salary to $49,696 and
  • Eligible employees will receive a $1,212 general pay increase.

Instructional and Business/Operations Exempt Employees

  • Increase pay range minimum, midpoint, and maximum by 1 percent and
  • Eligible employees will receive an increase equal to 2 percent of the pay range midpoint.

Operations Support, Instructional Support, Administrative Support

  • Implement pay grades 102-108, 202-211 and 301-313 per TASB pay system review, and
  • Eligible employees will receive an increase equal to 2 percent of pay range midpoint.

Central Texas school districts are planning to approve or have already approved compensation plans for the 2017-2018 school year. The proposed neighboring districts’ salary raises are listed below:

  • Austin ISD: 1.5 percent,
  • Hutto ISD: 2.3 percent for teachers, 2 percent for all other staff,
  • Leander ISD: 2 percent,
  • Pflugerville: 2.5 percent,
  • Georgetown ISD: 2 percent and
  • Eanes ISD: 0 percent.
