Singers, dancers, musicians, and performers will soon shine in the new performing and learning venue in Round Rock ISD.

Construction on the exterior masonry and windows for the Cedar Ridge High School auditorium is nearing completion and the project is on schedule to open for students in August.

The 750-seat auditorium broke ground in August 2016. It will feature a full stage with rigging, a green room, an orchestra pit and a scenery shop. Bond 2014 funded the new facility, which can serve schools across the District. Bond 2014 also included the construction of an auditorium for Stony Point High School, which will begin this summer and is expected to be completed by August 2018.

Round Rock ISD Project Manager Nick Thanos worked with Cedar Ridge Architecture Teacher Kelly Foster and Construction Teacher Neil Little to utilize the construction site as a second classroom for students. Throughout the construction, Thanos hosted more than 30 tours for construction and architecture students to witness the progress.

Cedar Ridge is included in Proposition 3 of Bond 2017 with the expansion of the campus’ football field to serve as the District’s third outdoor athletic facility. The renovation and additions to the field would prepare the facility to host varsity events, including football, band, cheerleading, track, soccer and lacrosse.
